Don’t get me wrong – the blue on the new Steiner T-Series rings is very catchy, and, for many people, it isn’t going to make much difference – but – if you like to be able to do everything on your rifle from a shooting position (bipods are the other challenge here) – then this could be worth considering.
Still, don’t see it? Well – no – you cant – the bubble level covers the elevation turret – so, while you can have a rough idea – you really are going to want to lift up the head to confirm.
Yes, if you are running a red dot on your scope, then you likely have to break position for that – however – you are also likely to be doing some large movements changing targets at that stage anyhow.
For our client builds, we tend to use the Burris Signature rings anyhow – because of their ability to add in a pile of cant, without having to use rails, but it’s becoming fashionable to include the bubble in the rear scope ring. Obviously, the front ring isn’t an option, so I will be sticking with the side-mounted bubble, up in front of the turrets (I am left-handed, hence the setup on the Vortex Razor AMG, above).
